A signed Limited Edition of this work, number 152 of 500 signed and numbered copies produced.
Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and a further sixty-one colour plates, each retaining their original captioned tissue guard. Collated, complete.
With examples of the watercolours of a range of artists, including Helen Allingham, Arthur Hopkins, R. Anning Bell and Walter Crane, among many others.
The work of Marcus B. Huish, an English writer and art dealer, who edited The Art Journal between 1881 and 1892, and was the first Managing Director of the Fine Art Society.
With a former owners inscription to the front pastedown.
A richly illustrated study of water colours between 1804 and 1904, through the reigns of George I, Queen Victoria and Edward VII.
CONDITION
In the publishers original pictorial cloth binding. Bumping to spine head and tail and board perimeters. Discolouration to back strip, with light marks to boards. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Inscription to front pastedown. Internally, binding lightly strained throughout. Pages generally clean and bright, with the odd spot. Light spotting to tissue guards.
