Strikingly bound in red morocco by P. B. Sanford, with floral gilt to the boards, and the monogram R.F. to the front board. Doublure endpapers in red silk.

A beautiful collection of the poetry of Auguste Angellier.

Angellier was primarily a teacher of language and English literature, as well as publishing poetry and literary criticism; notbaly he was sensational for attacking the theories of Hippolyte Taine in his thesis about Robert Burns.

Ink inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper, Rosamond Fay, November 25, 1911.


CONDITION

In a full morocco binding with gilt floral decoration to the boards, bound by P. B. Sanford. Externally, smart. Spine and joints are a little faded. Very light rubbing to the spine and joints. Small chip to the doublure front paste down. Ink inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper. Scattered spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned to the margins and clean.
